Running For Cover

Happy St Valentine’s Day!

Yes I know, I’m a bit early. But I wanted to wish you a great day anyway, especially if you’re single like me!

I’m going to flee the city spend a few days at my parents this week as I haven’t seen them for a while and my dad had to be operated for a hernia recently. I feel like if I hug him too hard, he’ll end up like one of those pooping cow keychains !

You know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’ve been single for a few years now, and while it can get very lonely at times, I enjoy my own company so much thats its really not so bad.

The keay is to spend time with yourself doing stuff that you like. I go out to dinner by myself, I go to the cinema by myself. I get “lost” and wander around in the “old” part of Nimes, where I live. Its a beautiful town.

The Arena of Nîmes

I think that enjoying your own company actually makes it easier to relate to others, and enjoy theirs. I definitely feel ready to meet someone special, though, although I’m not in any hurry.

While Romance isn’t a huge theme in The Voice of The Voiceless, it does have its moments. My sister actually wrote the entire Victoria/Lord Daemon part of the book while Listening to Bram Stoker’s Dracula movie soundtrack “Love Remembered”.

When she send the finished manuscript to me to be edited, she forced me to recommended I listen to it too. It did make my editing experience very enjoyable, and now everytime I hear it, I always picture Victoria and Lord Daemon, on a snowy february afternoon, sitting together and falling in love at the table of a cafe.

Maybe you’re sick of all the lovey-doveyness though. If you’re alone like me, (and even if you aren’t), you might want to check out this gritty, hang-on-the-edge-of-your-seat selection of new titles.
